Comments:ССЕ 235. Werner (1, 413) treats the word as a compound of *kas + *ʔaʔd 'bone' - which is possible and can explain the gemination in Ket. kassat. However, further identification of this *kas with Kott. hēči 'footwear' is impossible - because the latter has an excellent match in Ket. tɛ:śi, Yug čɛ:hs id., also acknowledged by Werner (2, 254), see *cēse. Werner also compares Kott. kāčoga 'ankle-bone', q.v. sub *giʔs.
Comments:ССЕ 236. Pump. (Срсл.) sietak "Geburt" is in reality a Ket form. The Ket verb is complex: its first component sīja- / sjēge- / si-g- = Kott. ši-gei. The Kott. paradigm, however, does not leave any doubt that the root is -gej- (not šig-), so the proposed reconstruction *sik in Werner 2, 192 is faulty.
Comments:ССЕ 236. Werner 1, 419 (besides quoting the reconstruction *ken-, compares Ket kɛn- to kēŋ 'wings', the plural form of kɛʔj - which, however, has a PY *g- and has nothing to do with the present root; see *geʔj).
Proto-Yenisseian:*keq- ( ~ g-, -χ-)
Meaning:to buy
Ket:t-kɛ́q-śi-bet 'I buy it' (MKet)
Yug:di-kɛ́χ-tiskit 'I buy it'
Comments:Werner 1, 423 (w.r.).
Proto-Yenisseian:*kes (~g-)
Meaning:burbot
Ket:kēs, pl. kaśn5
Yug:kes, pl. kasn5
Comments:ССЕ 236. Werner 1, 423. A proposed variant reconstruction <*kàjés > *kēs> does not seem reasonable: it is based on the derived form kajgit 'small burbot', where -j- is a standard Ket variant of -s- before a voiced consonant.
Proto-Yenisseian:*ketVR-
Meaning:oakum
Ket:kɛtĺiŋ5,6
Comments:Perhaps connected with *kita 'hemp, nettle' q.v. Werner 1, 420 gives also another meaning: "fish roe".
Comments:ССЕ 237. Werner 1, 461 <*kǝʔl>; Werner doubts the relationship of Kott. -ča-gar, and also does not list the Ket verb -kiĺ, while the noun kʌiĺ5 is given on p. 460 without etymology. Werner 1, 436 also has a word Ket kīĺ (pl. kīĺaŋ) 'Zwirn, Faden'; however, on p. 1, 426 the form kīĺaŋ is analyzed as kiʔ 'yarn' + ĺaʔŋ 'hank, skein', so this kīĺ may be a result of re-analyzing the form kīĺaŋ, and thus may be unrelated to the present root.
Ket:kʌĺgup5 (North.), pl. kʌĺgúń ( < kʌĺgu:ń3)
Comments:Werner 1, 463 (analyzes as kʌl' 'crooked' + kup 'end, muzzle').
Proto-Yenisseian:*kǝm- (~g-)
Meaning:forth, away
Ket:kʌma5
Yug:kʌmej5
Comments:ССЕ 236. Werner 1, 463 *kǝmǝ. Cf. also Ket kɔ:ŋ, Yug ko:ŋ "go away!".
Proto-Yenisseian:*kǝn- (~g-)
Meaning:beads
Yug:kʌnɨŋ5
Comments:Werner 1, 467, with a highly dubious analysis as plural of kʌʔn 'light', still aggravated by an identification of kʌnɨŋ with Kott. hanaŋ 'bank, shore' (?)
